In Cincinnati, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in Ohio, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.

No hours are on file. If you plan a visit, phone first or check the Google Maps link on this page for the latest times. Scheduled a tour to see some native plants in mature form. Steve took me around and answered my beginner questions. Morgan was also working. Both were incredibly helpful and friendly. Left with an elderberry bush starter.

Loved Keystone!!! Will definitely be returning! It’s a hidden gem; an absolute treasure! You do feel as though you’re in the wrong place, as the road turns into a bumpy private drive, and you pass a few homes to finally get to Keystone. Once there, you just marvel at the quaint, peaceful treasure trove of local, native plants. Everything Steve grows is strictly native, so you know you’re in good hands!! Found swamp mallow & mountain mint there, which have been difficult - no, impossible - to find! I’ll be returning to get the coral honeysuckle when it’s ready!!

So glad I found Steve and his nursery! It's incredibly difficult to find straight native species for our area. He took the time to personally show us around his operation and answer any questions we had. His dedication is awesome!

Incredible selection of natives! We could've easily spent the whole day there walking around the farm, talking about pocket prairies, and how to build a rain garden. The waterleaf was in full bloom and scenery was right out of a storybook. Absolutely recommend!!
